I requested a photo from " ataglance2012" just 3 weeks ago and she replies after 3-4 days. We corresponded for a couple weeks then agreed to meet for lunch today 9-7-12. She was much prettier than her photo and we had a wonderful conversation during out 1 1/2 hour lunch at a comfortable italian restaurant located between our two homes.
We shared our PS experiences ( this was my first date on PS, her 3rd) and we parted with an enthusiastic embrace. Just 5 hrs later, we are meeting at an art festival to spend some more time together to get to know one another a little more. Very classy lady with good values and a fun sense of humor.
She sent me a wink on June 30 of this year. I wasnt going to respond because I was about to put dating on hold until I cleared up some things in my life. But I read her profile, really liked it, and thought "why not?". So, I winked back... not really thinking anything about it. We then exchanged a few emails and pictures the next day, and it all felt really good. The next day we talked on the phone for an hour and it felt even better. It was immediately apparent that we thought about, and approached, life the same way. We decided to meet for lunch the very next day... so, I think it was four or five days after she winked, we met for lunch near my office downtown.
There was immediate chemistry. We met two more times that week and then I had a planned vacation... so we chatted the entire time I was away. We moved to texting instead of through PS because it was just easier/quicker. And since then we have just gotten closer and closer. Haha... ther...

Found someone amazing.

We have both definitely fallen in love, but are in no hurry for anything more than enjoying the moments and time together.
I want to thank Positive Singles. Making connections like these is nearly impossible in life as it is... then you throw on top of it previous divorce/separation and the conditions we all carry with us (on the site) and it can seem hopeless. It is still early in our relationship, but I think she is the "one"... and I found her on PS (well, she found me. lol). Thank you!
As far tips for the site. I think being able to see who has viewed you is key and I would suggest making that a free feature. The design is a little cluttered (Im a site designer) and isnt immediately intuitive. I didnt mind paying for your service. It seems a bit steep, but I suppose it does weed out the non-serious members.
As far as observations that may or may not be useful to other members. Profile pics were somewhat important to me. But I understand with the nature of this particular site that people might not want to display their photo. I had no problem talking to some that had no profile pic on the site. But I wanted to see pics fairly quickly upon meeting. Not to be shallow, but there has to be a physical chemistry. The actual written profile was the most important. Seeing how someone communicates through words. How they describe themselves. Etc. That made the biggest impact for me.
Thank you for the inquiry,.. (I trust this will help, though prefer it not be broad cast with my name or profile info). I came back to make sure my profile was inactive for the time being. This is the second time I have used on-line meeting sites to find a quality, and compatible man. My first was a 10 Year LTR that only ended b/c he passed away from cancer.
All I can say is, I stick to my own "old fashioned" integrity and perhaps non-popular ways in first meeting. I believe if one is honest, willing to communicate, and has tenacity with patience, this is the superior and quickest way to meet men. I was not on any site for hook-ups and tried to make that clear in my profile. However, I still would receive the less than proper integrity I was seeking, or just those that were unable to communicate with on some basic level-usually preferring ssumptions over just asking or answering a direct question.

This man, that so far has made me stop looking, has the qualities in reciprocation we both were seeking. Out of chance, I had seen his profile when I expanded my search. It appeared as though he had already been "matched" or was dating, as the site offered the "last log in date" info of over 1 month old (and given some of the info his profile offered) I would not have been surprised to see him not looking long! But he was more like me than I even thought in the start.
As is my Shaman fashion, I only sent a message to his profile (out to the universal good) telling him how I was impressed with the words he shared and that was sorry to not have noticed it sooner. I also even expected he would not receive my message, but said; I hoped he had found the quality long lasting match he was seeking and told him (or the universe!) that I wished him well.
I did NOT expect a response (seldom get one of any kind in most cases),... As I am Shaman, I always feel it is good to congratulate those that have made successful in their efforts even when they may not know it offered. He wrote back the same day after reading my profile. I can only "assume" the site sent him a notice (which I am soooo grateful).... He told me he had quit logging on or trying due to the lack of integrity of the responses he had initially received (centering all around typical shallow sexual advances). We have been communicating daily since, and we are thrilled at our meeting.
We are taking the time to get to know one another as opposed to the seemingly popular quick hook-ups that prevail in our gay societal norm.
We are both communicators, "marriers" as devoted monogamous people, that have had difficulty finding men with these qualities in the past. I have an added bonus of his being quite handsome and just a few years my junior!
The way things are going, we have future plan to make a home together- The "picket fence" and with all the wonderful attributes that go into a real relationship in the easy good times, while both willing to put the effort to work for individual and mutual goals and foremost- through any challenges that are only natural to happen in any relationship, without "throwing in the towel" for the next fling available around every corner.
Actually, we first talked two years ago from your site. But, both of us started dating other people, which of course did not work out.
We remembered each other very well though. And when we saw each other back on the site, we started talking again. We have been talking now for three weeks, and met yesterday for the first time. We both took a day off of work and met for lunch.
Lunch lasted 9 hours... Lol! And we were very comfortable with each other. No long moments of awkward silence the entire day.
No talk of marriage yet. But, who knows about in the future.
I have a boyfriend...thank you :) I met him on here....and am very happy.
We emailed for 2 weeks, spoke by text and by phone during that same time period. We live an hour and a half apart. We were supposed to get together after a week, but it didn't work out that way. We were able to get together the following week, and our first date turned into 4 days together. We were supposed to go to the hot springs pool on our first evening, but there was a huge thunderstorm and it poured. We ended up watching the lightening and just talking for hours. The next day we went fly fishing on a clear mountain stream, then to a concert in Aspen at night...it was an amazing mix of experiences that we were both comfortable in. There were so many things we had in common, and we just could not tear ourselves apart. We are both extremely happy together...

we both have different stories behind our positive status, but our marriages and divorces are similar. We are compatible in every possible way. As I type this it has been almost 2 months that we have been together. We are looking into the future, as he is job hunting in my town so that we can get a place together. I had been on PS for almost a year, with negative success. I live in a very small town, and it is a difficult position to be in. I had dated one person from the site a few times but that as really not a good situation...he was not who he presented himself to be. My boyfriend had only been on PS for 3 weeks before he emailed me. We really hit it off immediately, and agreed to discontinue our memberships to the site because we both just knew that we had found the person whom we were meant to be with. We have spoken of marriage, but in the future. We have to be in the same town first...and we also both have children from our previous marriages so we need to take them into consideration when planning our lives together.
I do want to thank you for making it possible for people like us to have a place to be able to find dates without the fear of ridicule or rejection due to our health status. I will keep the email address handy so that I can update you on anything in the future. Thank you :)
