F: I have tested positive for HSV 1 and 2, but never get cold sores on my mouth. I've met someone here online that has HSV 2 only. I have 2 questions: 1) Is it true that if we both have HSV 2 then we don't need to worry about it. For example, there aren't different strains of HSV 2 are there? 2. I tested positive for 1 and 2 using a blood test some years ago. Would be at risk for getting HSV 1 or sores the HSV 2 offer him immunity to HSV1?
